From our foundation in 1919, Sancta Maria College created a strong link with the community. As long as establishing a secondary school in Louisburgh, The Mercy sisters established a very successful small knitting industry to give some local employment and gave music lessons locally. 

This community spirit envisioned by the Mercy Sisters has been further developed and strengthened.
